REALMS MAP PUBLISHING AGREEMENT

This Realms Map Publishing Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you and us (Mojang AB). This Agreement sets out the specific licensing terms ("Terms") for publishing maps for use through the Minecraft Realms service (the Minecraft Realms Service terms are available here: https://minecraft.net/realms/terms). We don't like reading license documents any more than you do, so we have tried to keep this as short as possible. If you break these rules, we may stop you from Publishing Realms Maps, and possibly from using Minecraft Realms itself. If you Publish Realms Maps, you are agreeing to follow these Terms. If you can't or don't agree to these Terms, then please do not Publish Realms Maps.

Agreement to Publish Maps in Minecraft Realms

These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy, the Mojang Account Terms, the Minecraft EULA, and the Minecraft Realms EULA. The things covered in those documents should be treated as if they are set out in these Terms, so please read those documents carefully. When we refer to these Terms, we are referring to the terms and conditions you see in front of you, together with those incorporated documents that are available by following the links to each.

Ownership of Minecraft and Maps

We own Minecraft and Minecraft Realms and all copyright and related intellectual property rights ("IPRs") in it, including its software, textures, assets and brand elements and any derivatives thereof. We also own all the related goodwill. Apart from those elements, we don't claim any rights or ownership in the Maps you create ("Your Maps").

Publishing your maps

By "Map", we mean the configuration of a Minecraft environment and scenario as recorded in a map file, plus any associated resource packs or resources, such as sounds, graphics, models, and texts. We would like to give you the opportunity to publish Your Map subject to this Agreement.

To do so, you will need to submit Your Map to us using our Map Submission Portal. These Terms cover any Map submission you make, including revisions or updates.

By submitting a Map, you give us and other Minecraft players who have access to it full permissions to access, use, copy, modify, adapt, distribute, publicly display and make available Your Map to others (without restriction and including the right to sublicense these rights and to promote the commercialization) in connection with Minecraft and Minecraft Realms, and under the Minecraft brand.

This permission is perpetual, worldwide and irrevocable. You also agree to let us permit others to use, copy, modify, adapt, distribute and publicly display Your Map. You are not giving up your ownership rights in Your Map, you are just giving us and other users permission to use it. If you don't want to give us this permissions, then please do not submit Your Map to us. Please think carefully before you submit Your Map, because it will be made public and might be used by other people in a way you don't like.

We reserve the right to take down any content in our discretion.

We will attempt to provide you with proper credit and attribution for Your Map, however we cannot guarantee that it will happen and thus you accept and understand that you may not get credit or attribution from us or others for Your Map.

We also want you to understand that we are not liable to you for what other people may do with Your Map when you Publish it or let them use it – because we can't control that.

These permissions last forever and cannot be revoked. If you don't want to give these permissions, you shouldn't submit the Map.

Your Maps

You are solely responsible for Your Map, its content, and the Publishing of Your Map. What that means is that we don't monitor or review Your Map. We may check it for technical compliance, compatibility and / or viruses etc., however we do not monitor or review the content itself or information contained in it.

You therefore acknowledge and agree that we have no responsibility to monitor or review the content of Your Map, which is made available on the basis that we are not required to and do not exercise any control or judgement over it. HOWEVER we may remove, reject or suspend access to Your Map (or any of them) if, at our sole discretion, we consider it is appropriate to do so. For example, we may remove, reject or suspend access to Your Map if you breach this Agreement or any of the incorporated documents that make up these Terms; if we receive a complaint from a third party; if we believe in our sole discretion that the Map is unlawful or harmful to others; or if it becomes technically incompatible with current version of Minecraft or other software or technology used on or for Minecraft Realms.

If you are going to Publish Your Map, it must:

  • not be offensive to people

  • not be illegal or unlawful

  • be honest and not mislead, trick or exploit anyone else nor impersonate others

  • not infringe anyone's copyright or other intellectual property rights

  • not be racist, sexist or homophobic

  • not be bullying or abusive

  • not damage our or another person's reputation

  • not include pornographic, obscene or other objectionable content

  • not include advertising

  • not infringe the rights of anyone else

You are responsible for Your Map.

By submitting Your Map for publishing, you warrant and are telling us that you are fully entitled to do so under the Terms of this Agreement and that we are entitled to exercise the rights you have granted to us under this Agreement.

If we get challenged, threatened or sued by someone because of any Map you submit or content that you make available on Minecraft Realms (or is made available by anyone on or through Your Minecraft Realm) we may remove it and / or suspend or terminate your privileges under these Terms. We are not responsible for any trouble or liability caused by any Map you submit.

Our access to or the publication of Your Map does not mean that we have reviewed it for compliance with this Agreement, approved it, or exercised any control over it, and it does not affect this Agreement or the Terms under which Your Map was submitted.

Publishing Submissions

If you submit Your Map for Publishing you will be asked to complete a submission form which will form part of Your Map, and you also agree to the following:

  • Your Map may or may not be made available hereunder

  • you will be responsible for Your Map including any complaints and support issues relating to it

  • you will provide us with detailed and accurate contact information that may be needed for any complaints or support issues

  • we may market, promote, publicize, and commercialize, Your Map and use it and the name you include in Your Map or on the submission form or URL that you submit for those purposes

  • we may establish certain technical requirements to be met before Your Map may be made available to others for use or access hereunder

Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Your Map or its content

  • Any use or misuse of Your Map or its content

  • Any content that is made available by You hereunder or using Minecraft Realms

  • Any breach of this agreement by You

  • Any breach of any terms by any other person

You are liable for:

  • Your Map and its content

  • Your use of Minecraft Realms

  • Any breach of this agreement by You

Any activities concerned with Publishing Your Map in Minecraft Realms are provided 'as is'. This means we are not making any promises to you about the standard or quality of the Map Publishing, or that it will be uninterrupted or error free; we are not responsible for any loss or damage that it causes. You have to accept that we are continuously improving, introducing and adding new features to Minecraft Realms and Map Publishing, so it may contain or include bugs.

Minecraft Realms including Map Publishing is a work in progress and is not finished. By using it now you have to agree and accept that it is incomplete and may (and probably will) contain defects and errors, crash and/or cause data loss. We are sorry if that happens, so please back-up and safe guard all data and programmes on your computer and don't rely on the correct functioning or performance of it. In simple terms you publish Your Map on Minecraft Realms and use Minecraft Realms at your own risk, knowing that it is provided "as is".

Termination

If you breach these terms or any part of them, we may terminate this Agreement (or any portion thereof), including your license to Publish Your Map. The sections about "Ownership of Minecraft and Maps", "Liability" and "General" will however continue to apply even after termination.

General

Your local law may give you rights that these Terms cannot change; if so, these Terms apply as far as the law allows. Nothing excludes or limits our liability for death or bodily injury resulting from our negligence or fraudulent misrepresentations.

We may also change these Terms from time to time and those changes will apply to any of Your Maps submitted after such time. Thus, you should check back here from time to time so you are aware of any changes. We're not going to be unfair about this though – but sometimes the law changes or someone does something that affects other users of Minecraft Realms and we therefore need to put a lid on it.

If you come to us with a suggestion for Minecraft, Minecraft Realms or any related product, that suggestion is made for free and we have no obligation to accept or consider it. This means we can use or not use your suggestion in any way we want and we don't have to pay you for it. If you think you have a suggestion that we would be willing to pay you for, please do not tell us your suggestion unless you have first told us you want to be paid and we have responded in writing by asking you to submit the suggestion.
